The R&A World Golf Museum
Museum Redevelopment - R&A World Golf Museum - 2021
Interpretation Planning - at Mather & Co
Working at Mather & Co., The R&A World Golf Museum was a redevelopment of the British Golf Museum located in St Andrews beside the oldest golf course in world. My role as Project Interpretative Designer, was to support the Client in developing the interpretation, writing the content and collecting assets for both the graphics and audio visuals within the space. The exhibition takes you across the world of golf, starting in St Andrews, celebrates the founding of the R&A and some of the memorable moments of golf at the Open Championship. Key areas of interest include the an interactive map, which brings to life how golf has become part of the makeup of the town, A boardroom table showcasing the earliest rules and regulations for the game in the R&A. An Open championship show and a media wall filled with how the R&A is working to make golf more accessible and inclusive. Visitors can come close to the Open trophy and appreciate the welcome of Women's golf. This museum was opened in June 2021.
