Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens
Museum Redevelopment - Sunderland Council - 2025
NLHF Funding Document and Interpretation Planning - at Mather & Co
Sunderland Museum and Winter Garden have successful been awarded NLHF funding of £299,425 following their recent bid. As part of this bid, I worked with designers to develop the Interpretation & Design Report. Embracing an eco-lens approach, the museum wanted to bring connections between their winter garden and museum collections to support visitors to explore their heritage and future. For the report, initial interpretation and concept designs were developed alongside the client. Eco-lens training and public consultations also supported the vision for the project. I also worked with cultural consultant, Stephen Welsh to develop a co-creation strategy which determined how co-creation would work with the interpretation design. 3D Design: Paul Lee and Josh Haynes Project Management: Stabler Heritage Project Team: Purcell Architects, DBA Consultants, Stephen Welsh and Tricolour Associates
