The Glencoe Folk Museum sits at the centre of the small villiage of Glencoe with a powerful history of mining stories, massacres and empowered local women. The 1.3million project has been funded by the NLHF and donations, following a successful bid. I worked with the client to develop an Interpretation & Design Report which captured the spirit of the local community. The process included surveying the collections, research about the stories and consultation with local community members. The report aimed to represent the community voice that GFM offers. It also aimed to encourage environmentally friendly travel and connect people to nature and the Highlands through personable storytelling. We worked alongside Peter Drummond Architects and cultural consultant, Eric Hildrew. The project is now in the delivery phase.
